What happens when a user clicks the "Forgot your password?" link on the login page?
A "regular" user who normally logs in to Catalyst with a username (email address) and password can reset their password from the login page.
Reset your password
Click the "Forgot your password?" link.

You will be prompted to enter your username.

Having done that, click Reset.

A confirmation model tells you that an email with a link to reset your password will be sent.
Important: The given email address must be from a valid account. It cannot be an Internal or External Service account.
The password reset email contains a unique link which will allow you to change your password.

It will also contain details of a person or team who should be contacted if you did not make the password reset request. These details are taken from the Company details page in your Catalyst instance. If this page has not been completed, the email will be the same as above.
When you click the link in the email, you will be taken to the Reset password model.
Here you must enter and confirm your new password. The model will contain the password requirements so that you can ensure your new password is acceptable and meets company guidelines.

The password requirements will become green and ticked when each is fulfilled.
Click Reset Password. A green toast success message will be displayed. You will be logged in and taken to the workspace.
Useful info
- The link in the password reset email is valid for 24 hours. The email clearly states this, so ensure you action the reset as soon as the email is received.
- If "Prevent password re-use" is not enabled in the Standard authentication configuration, the user will be able to use the same password as before.
- If SSO is enabled, you will be taken to the login page and not given the opportunity to set a password.
