Platform administrators
As someone responsible for administering Catalyst, you will typically have a Super admin account type. Your responsibilities may include managing users, roles, permissions, authentication settings, and outbound communications.
In practice, your interaction with Catalyst will focus on ensuring the platform is configured correctly and maintained as company policies, integrations, and user access requirements evolve.
Quick checklist of global settings
You will find the following under Administration:
Users, Roles and User groups - this section of the Knowledgebase will help you to create and manage your users. Most of your users will only interact with records and tasks in their Workspace; they probably won't need a Role but are likely to be in one or more User groups.
[Company details] - details entered here are available as merge fields and will be used in message templates.
Standard authentication - this area allows you to set the user login password rules for the system. This article will show you what the user sees when they activate their account, and how you set the password rules.
Single sign-on - if you use this feature it will allow you to configure a single sign on provider such as Microsoft or Google. Users can select this method of authentication on the login page instead of entering their email address and password.
[Authentication Objects] - these are used to hold sensitive login details which are required to connect to third party systems via API calls.
Outbound mail setup - this is where you will define and configure the mail service used for all outgoing notifications. See outbound mail setup.
