Overview of formbuilder
The articles in this section of the knowledgebase are designed to give a quick overview of the components found in the Catalyst formbuilder.
What the formbuilder is used for
The formbuilder is used to create the three record displays, standalone forms (for creation of records), and Task templates.
Formbuilder layout
The formbuilder is made up of a main section (or canvas) and a side panel.
Depending on the system area being configured, the side panel will contain the following sections:
| Layout | Fields | Object Class Fields | Properties | Child Object Classes | Elements | |
| Object class - Card view | N | N | Y | Y | N | N |
| Object class - Create and edit view | Y | N | Y | Y | Y if object class is a parent | Y |
| Object class - Summary view | Y | N | Y | Y | N | Y |
| Standalone Forms | Y | N | Y | N | N | Y |
| Task template - self contained form | Y | Y | N | N | N | N |
| Task template - update object record | Y | Y | Y | N | N | N |
Components can be dragged and dropped from the side panel into sections on the canvas.
Once the component is in place, click on it to open the properties or options panel, where you can configure it as required.
