Overview of formbuilder

The articles in this section of the knowledgebase are designed to give a quick overview of the components found in the Catalyst formbuilder.

What the formbuilder is used for

The formbuilder is used to create the three record displays, standalone forms (for creation of records), and Task templates.

Formbuilder layout

The formbuilder is made up of a main section (or canvas) and a side panel.

Depending on the system area being configured, the side panel will contain the following sections:

LayoutFieldsObject Class FieldsPropertiesChild Object ClassesElements
Object class - Card viewNNYYNN
Object class - Create and edit viewYNYYY if object class is a parentY
Object class - Summary viewYNYYNY
Standalone FormsYNYNNY
Task template - self contained formYYNNNN
Task template - update object recordYYYNNN

Components can be dragged and dropped from the side panel into sections on the canvas.

Once the component is in place, click on it to open the properties or options panel, where you can configure it as required.
